Climate
change is already making a devastating impact on low lying islands in the
Pacific Ocean and elsewhere. Inundation of coastal communities has seen
villages disappear and precious fresh water supplies polluted with salt water
and seepage from toilet pits. Babies are dying from simple diarrhea
at an alarming rate.
 
While it is accepted that many thousands of island peoples
will need to re-locate to other areas in the next few years, there is a human
disaster looming right now. There is so much that can easily be done to improve
the safety and quality of life for islanders NOW.
Island Spa has the knowledge, experience and passion to launch
The Island Project. We will visit our first island group early July 2013 to work with a specific island village community, implementing new techniques and treatments for clean water and protection from mosquitoes that are causing malaria and dengue fever right now.
We will train leaders among the village to roll out simple changes that will save people’s lives.
However, we are a small boutique brand; in fact, I am coming back from
semi-retirement to implement this project. I have revamped our product range with an island theme.
I NEED YOUR HELP to succeed with this project.
For every one of our products sold, we will be
contributing the greater percentage of profits to this cause. When you purchase
any of our products you will be making a direct contribution to The Island Project!
Our program encompasses creating clean water through small portable UV light treatment kits, water collection and storage, home desalination kits, improved hygiene
and sanitation plus natural remedies for fever, gastro intestinal bugs, bacterial
infections plus teaching the islanders how to make their own natural mosquito repellent with what is growing on their island as a free resource.
